Image Set Editing

The image editor lets you perform rudimentary operations on images. You can enlarge or shrink images, rotate them or crop them to a desired size. When editing images for an image set the image size is fixed. The current crop area displays the image as it will be saved. The area outside the crop area is dimmed.


Standard Editing   top
: tap this when you are done editing. You will be asked to save or discard your edits. If you tap Save the edited image will replace the original image. Tap Save a Copy to keep the original.

: applies the edits to the image and saves a copy while remaining on this screen. The original remains unchanged (unless you Save when exiting).

The image is displayed with four edit handles around the crop area. Drag the handles to enlarge or shrink the size of the crop area. The crop area is kept centered on screen. Drag the image itself to position it relative to the crop area. If the crop area is so small that you can't grab the image anymore (the resizing controls cover it all), then grab the image outside the crop area. You can shrink, enlarge or rotate the image with the standard pinch gestures. Double-tap on the image to reset your edits.


Image Set Editing   top
: tap this when you are done editing. You will be returned to the image set. You will not be asked to save; you have to save changes explicitly with the command.

0/0: shows which image in the image set you are currently editing and the number of additional images created (when saving copies).

: switch to the previous image without saving. Wraps around to the last image.

: switch to the next image without saving. Wraps around to the first image.

: apply the edits to the image and save a copy. The original remains unchanged.

: apply the edits to the image. The edited image will replace the original image. However, the original image data is saved along with the edited image. You can double-tap to restore the original and/or change the editing parameters.

The image is displayed inside a fixed crop area. The image is slightly enlarged to make it easier to position without introducing empty space at the edges. Drag the image to position it relative to the crop area. You can shrink, enlarge or rotate the image with the standard pinch gestures. Double-tap on the image to reset your edits.
